The Friends of NCPTT, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) incorporated in Louisiana on October 24, 2007. The purpose of The Friends of NCPTT, Inc., is to support the research and educational goals of the National Park Service’s National Center for Preservation Technology and Training, which is located in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Since being established, The Friends of NCPTT’s primary role has been partnering with NCPTT to present and promote training courses and symposia on a wide variety of preservation technology topics.
As the Friends of NCPTT becomes more firmly established, it will publish and market NCPTT reports and training products, raise funds for the capital needs of the National Center, including completing Lee H. Nelson Hall (NCPTT’s headquarters) and acquiring major lab equipment.
The Friends of NCPTT also hopes to assist NCPTT in the development of a Fellows program, scholarly exchanges, details from parks and other agencies, and scholarships for students to attend NCPTT training and symposia.
